Strengthen coordination between rangers in the Northern provinces

According to the functions, tasks and activities of 19 northern provinces and cities, the total natural area is more than 10 million hectares, of which 5.6 million hectares are forested land, accounting for more than 37.7% of the area.

In the first 10 months of 2024, forest rangers handled more than 2,000 violations, a decrease of 636 cases compared to the same period in 2023. From the beginning of the year until now, the affected forest area is more than 216,000 hectares, mainly due to after the impact of storm No. 1.

From the beginning of the year until now, 146 forest fires have occurred in 19 northern provinces, down 67 cases compared to the same period last year, and the number of deforestation cases also decreased by 370 cases.

In recent times, the Forest Protection Department of Region I has coordinated well with the Forest Protection Departments of provinces and national parks in the management area, thereby improving compliance with forestry laws and minimizing the situation of forest protection. violate.

After 4 years of implementing the coordination regulations between the Forest Protection Department Region I and localities, it has brought practical and comprehensive results in all fields.

At the conference, delegates raised the issue of forest development, management and protection in 19 provinces and cities, in which encroachment, deforestation and encroachment on natural forest land occur on a small scale, in remote areas. Remote areas make it difficult for authorities to handle.

Delegates also suggested that the situation of planting trees under the canopy of natural forests, destroying the ecosystem, which is quite common in the Northern provinces, requires stricter sanctions.

The Forest Protection Department prioritizes reviewing regular training and development programs and projects for Forest Rangers of Region I and provinces.
